This embroidered case is an interesting one. The outside of the case looks and feels like leather chamois, but is a fabric of some type. The red lining is silk. The outside is decorated with varigated silk thread in a double feather stitch and the edges of the case are finished in buttonhole stitch. The inside has a "wheel" of various pins (as I found the case) with several glass-headed ones. There are some other straight pins and one, lone safety pin. The case ties closed with a red, single-sided satin ribbon. There are some stains on the cover and a few very tiny places of wear on the silk lining. The case measures 9 1/2 inches long, unfolded, and is 4 3/4 inches wide. This is a very unusual, handmade needle and pin case.
