Costumed needlework demonstrations are a favorite and include a 1890's attired Victorian lady to demonstrate various needlework techniques and Crazy Quilting, a Colonial lady dressed in "undress" (working clothes of the 18th century) or, a Civil War attired lady (complete with hoop skirts) who demonstrates fine needlework. Susie has had the pleasure of demonstrating her craft at the Smithfield Patriot Day history celebrations and Smithfield Olden Days. If you or your organization wish to schedule a demonstration or workshop please contact Berryhill Heirlooms through our website email address at sgay@berryhillheirlooms.com.
*October 6, 2012. Court Day at the Old Court House in Smithfield, Virginia. This stately arcaded colonial courthouse (one of only 4 remaining in the United States) will be the site of historical court cases that will be re-enacted by costumed participants during the day. Come by and enjoy this unique experience!
* The SAGA National Convention (9-14 October 2012) was held in Atlanta, Georgia at the Westin Peachtree Hotel. I taught several classes. The previous year's Convention teaching experience was wonderful, and this past year's was also. Market Day was on Friday, 12 Oct and was very successful!
*16-17 March 2013: I will be teaching the Released Box Pleats class workshop to the Mountain Laurel Stitchers in Connecticut.
