This 1880's Victorian Wedding Handkerchief is absolutely gorgeous! It is completely hand sewn with Ayershire Whitework beading, beautiful french Valenciennes cotton lace insertion and edging. The center is a very fine sheer linen lawn. The style is reminiscent of Normandy lace work. The four corner lace medallions are gorgeous.
There are a couple of tiny areas where the joining has come apart and one small place where the rolling and whipping on the linen lawn center has separated from the lace insertion. The Handkerchief measures approximately 14 1/4" square. This is an exquisite piece and would be a treasured edition to any antique linen or handkerchief collection.
